- [Rams vs Redskins] Josh Brown's 49-yard FG helps Rams upset Redskins 19-17
- Detroit News' "(Almost) idiot of the day" goes to (shock alert) Richie Incognito:
Rams offensive lineman Richie Incognito , who doesn't know the meaning of his last name, nearly cost the Rams their first victory of the season Sunday. The Rams, two-touchdown underdogs against the Redskins, trailed 17-16 in the final minutes but were setting up for a 34-yard field goal. Now what would you, dear reader, do in this situation:
• 1) Set up for a field goal.
• 2) Focus on making a field goal.
• 3) Talk smack to the referee until he flags you for unsportsmanlike conduct.
If you picked 1 or 2, well, that's why you're not in the NFL. A sure-thing field goal turned into a 49-yard attempt. Luckily for Incognimwit, kicker Josh Brown delivered.
- [Lions vs Vikings] Safety Daniel Bullocks made a big impact Sunday, leading the Lions with 10 tackles.
He set the tone early by drilling running back Adrian Peterson so hard about a minute into the game, Peterson flipped into the air. He forced Peterson to fumble at the Detroit 7 later in the first quarter, and safety Dwight Smith recovered the ball at the 1.
Peterson got Bullocks back, though. Late in the fourth quarter, Peterson popped Bullocks, and Bullocks needed five or six stitches to close a split upper lip.
