Details
  • Texans vs Colts: Kris Brown kicked the winning 48-yard field goal as time expired, giving Houston its first victory against Indianapolis, 27-24.
  • Ravens vs Steelers: The game began slowly; the first quarter highlights were mainly for the punters until the Ravens' Sam Koch -- after a mid-quarter drive that saw his teammates go from their own 10 to midfield to change field position momentum -- knocked the ball out of bounds at the Pittsburgh 4.
The Ravens forced a three-and-out and took over at the Steelers' 45 where the offense took it downfield for a touchdown.
Field position again played a role in the Ravens' second score. Koch's 51-yard punt backed the Steelers up to their own 17... the Steelers drive again ended with a Chris Gardocki punt that traveled only 39 yards to the Ravens' 42, where Cory Ross fair-caught the ball.
Ten plays later, the Ravens took a 14-0 lead just 3:26 before halftime. (PressBoxOnline.com)
  • Koch helped control the game. He averaged 46 yards on four punts. (Baltimore Sun)
  • Bengals vs Broncos: The Bengals would take a 7-0 lead with 3:44 left in the first quarter. Defense and special teams set it up.
After a Kyle Larson punt pinned the Broncos at the 7-yard line, the defense pushed Denver back to their own 1. The Broncos punt was tipped at the line, caught at the 35 and returned to the 18-yard line. On first and goal from the 6, Rudi Johnson ran outside behind left tackle Levi Jones and into the end zone.
  • ...Kyle Larson punted from the 37 and dropped a kick inside the 5, where it bounced high. Wide receiver Glenn Holt was back and initially was credited for downing the ball on the 1. (Enquirer.com)
  • The Cincinnati Bengals botched an extra point attempt with 41 seconds remaining, giving Denver a 24-23 win at a snowy Invesco Field. Carson Palmer hit T.J. Houshmandzadeh with a 10-yard touchdown pass over the middle to get the Bengals within a point, but the snap on the extra point from Brad St. Louis was wide of holder Kyle Larson and the ball was recovered under a pile of players well behind the line of scrimmage. • Browns vs Buccaneers: Ralph Brown, 5-foot-9, 185-pound Browns cornerback, separated 6-4, 258-pound tight end Alex Smith from the ball and his senses. (CantonPrep.com)
