Details
  • Saints-Colts recap (J.Bullocks, Foreman, Shanle)
  • Chargers vs Seahawks: With the ball spotted at the San Diego 36, K Josh Brown came on to attempt a 54-yarder, but, for the second time this preseason, Brown hit a low kick that hooked far to the left. It appears that rookie P Ryan Plackemeier, the holder on Brown’s two misses this preseason, and Brown are not on the same page. Plackmeier was replaced later by P Gabe Lindstrom on Brown’s field goal attempts later in the game.
As San Diego took over in excellent field position with over a minute left on the clock, Seahawks DE Grant Wistrom, on a stunt to the inside, sacked Rivers to nullify any threat right before halftime.
After the teams traded turnovers – a Morris fumble that was recovered by Carlos Polk and an interception by S Shaunard Harts off of Chargers rookie QB Charlie Whitehurst – Brown came on to hit a 28-yard field goal to put Seattle up by six, 20-17. (Seahawks.NET)
  • Bills vs Browns: The Bills' starting left defensive end battle will probably go down to the wire between Chris Kelsay and Ryan Denney. Kelsay had a quarterback pressure on the first series of the game and knifed down the line to combine with London Fletcher on a run play tackle. Ryan Denney teamed with Tim Anderson for a sack of Charlie Frye in the second quarter. Each of them finished with three tackles. (BuffaloBills.com)
  • Bills' QB JP Losman threw a pass that was intercepted by Ralph Brown. (BuffaloBills.com)
  • Ravens vs Vikings: Rookie Sam Koch appears to be cementing his grip on the starting punter role. The team's sixth-round draft pick in April averaged 51 yards on five punts, while Leo Araguz kicked his lone punt 42 yards. Koch also kicked off for 64 and 62 yards and was the holder for kicker Matt Stover.
"Leo only had that one punt tonight, but he did well," Koch said. "I'm going to be optimistic about it and say I did [move forward in the competition], but I really can't say." (Baltimore Sun)
