Details
  • 12/19/05 - Seahawks 28-Titans 24: Tennessee RB Chris Brown tried going up the middle for the first down, only to have the play strung out to the right by the Seahawks' interior defense, and he was dropped by SS Michael Boulware and DE Grant Wistrom for a 1-yard loss.
"In a game like this, fourth-down plays like that are where you win or lose," Wistrom said. "If they make one of those, maybe they score a touchdown and beat us. But we make a couple of big stops and that turns the game around."
  • 12/18/05 - Browns 9-Raiders 7: The Raiders defense performed as well as it did despite losing rookie cornerback Fabian Washington, who left the game in the first quarter with a knee contusion.
"It hurts," said Washington, who banged his knee on quarterback Charlie Frye's helmet. He tried several times to return to the field, but was too incapacitated to last. (SFGate.com)
  • 12/18/05 - Panthers 27-Saints 10: Mike Rucker did not start the game but played sparingly despite being listed as Questionable. He didn't make any tackles but did manage to recover a fumble.
  • 12/18/05 - Eagles 17-Rams 16: Mike McMahon, starting for injured Donovan McNabb, was 15-for-28 for 97 yards. Rams defensive back DeJuan Groce thought he looked disoriented all day.
"He was very confused out there, and it helped us out in the secondary," Groce said. "He didn't really know what was going on." (AP)
The Rams had just about everything going their way midway through the third quarter. They had the lead, 16-7, and the football, thanks to a DeJuan Groce interception. But somehow, it slipped away in the final quarter and a half - just as this season has slipped away, from one of promise to the current 5-9 free fall. (Post-Dispatch)
  • 12/18/05 - Seahawks 28-Titans 24: After grabbing a 14-0 lead, things began to go downhill for the Seahawks, the team marched down to the Tennessee 18 of their third possession only to see Josh Brown's 36-yard field goal blocked by Antwan Odom. The Titans then ran off 24 straight points. (SportsNetwork)
  • 12/17/05 - Broncos 28-Buffalo 17: New University at Buffalo head football coach Turner Gill and Athletics Director Warde Manuel the game on Saturday. (Buffalo News)
