Details
  • 12/05/05 - Buccaneers 10-Saints 3: Backup middle linebacker Barrett Ruud , who has played almost exclusively on special teams, took some snaps in Shelton Quarles ' place in the second and third quarters in an effort to give Quarles a rest and give the offense a different look. (St. Petersburg Times)
  • 12/05/05 - Carolina Panthers: Michael Vick wore the famous No. 7 and brought the big arm and the quick feet. So he looked the part. But on Sunday, he was all dressed up with no place to throw...
  • On one occasion, Michael Vick was so flustered by the rush of end Mike Rucker and safety Mike Minter that, to avoid a sack, he threw to tight end Eric Beverly. Vick flung that pass. Powerful arm. But Beverly was about five feet away. No way was Beverly going to catch the ball, but at least he didn't let it knock him down. (TheState.com)
  • 12/05/05 - Titans say slide vs Colts started with nulified Vanden Bosch sack
  • 12/04/05 - Bears 19-Packers 7: On a day when the defensive line struggled to get pressure on Favre, safety Mike Brown came free on two decisive blitzes.
The first hit forced a feeble Favre heave near the end of the first half that fell short of intended receiver Robert Ferguson and into the hands of CB Charles Tillman. Tillman fielded the ball 2 yards deep in the end zone but managed to take it back to the Green Bay 7-yard line before he was run out of bounds.
Brown also delivered a crushing sack of Favre in the third quarter to force a fumble that Green Bay managed to recover.
  • 12/04/05 - Giants 17-Cowboys 10: On fourth-and-six, a pass bounced off Jeremy Shockey's hands with linebacker Scott Shanle in coverage. (DallasCowboys.com)
  • 12/04/05 - Panthers 24-Falcons 6: Prior to Sunday, there were only four Panthers on the roster who had beaten the Falcons twice - safety Mike Minter, Mike Rucker, John Kasay and Kris Mangum. (Freedom News Service)
  • Panthers defensive end Mike Rucker left Sunday's game with a sprained ankle in the second half and did return. His status for this week remains uncertain. (Freedom News Service)
  • With fourth down and less than a yard, the Falcons went for it at the Panthers 46 down 7-6. As Michael Vick began to roll to his left, however, defensive end Mike Rucker shot through unblocked and dropped him for a loss of 9 yards.(Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  • Carolina S Mike Minter made 4 tackles and one-half sack. For the Falcons, LB Demorrio Williams was second on the team in tackles with 10.
  • 12/04/05 - Chiefs 31-Broncos 27: Chiefs offensive lineman Will Shields made his 203rd straight start and has played in the second-most games in team history (Nick Lowery - 212). (SportsNetwork)
  • 12/04/05 - Ravens 16-Texans 15: Texans K Kris Brown hit all five field goal attempts which ammounted to Houston's entire scoring output in a 1-point loss to Baltimore. (Sports Network)
