  • 10/16/05 - $33 million man gets a sack (Wistrom)
  • 10/16/05 - Broncos 28-Patriots 20: Patriots rookie left guard Logan Mankins was ejected from Sunday’s game with five seconds remaining in the first half when he hit Ebenezer Ekuban with a shot below the belt. The play drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which was declined because it occurred on Adam Vinatieri’s missed field goal. Russ Hochstein played the rest of the game. (AP)
  • 10/16/05 - Seahawks 42-Texans 10: Houston G Zach Wiegert, the most experienced player on Houston's offensive line, suffered a high right ankle sprain on the Texans' first possession. Free safety Jason Simmons sprained his right knee. (AP)
  • 10/16/05 - Panthers 21-Lions 20: Panthers defensive back Mike Minter ended up making the biggest defensive play of the game when he caught Marcus Pollard from behind on an 86-yard reception. The Panthers trailed 17-14 with 8:16 remaining but Pollard got loose when weakside linebacker Will Witherspoon gambled and lost containment. Minter pulled Pollard down at the Panthers' 5 and the Lions settled for Hanson's field goal. (Detroit News)

  • 10/16/05 - Falcons 34-Saints 31: New Orleans rookie safety Josh Bullocks had his first career interception in the second quarter when he picked off a Michael Vick pass that went off the hands of WR Dez White. Bullocks returned the ball 51 yards to Atlanta's 45 but the Saints had to settle for a field goal after the drive stalled at the Falcons' 1. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  • The Falcons reshuffled their LBs so Williams, formerly the starter at strongside, was moved to the weakside.
  • Demmorrio Williams ran back a blocked field goal attempt 59 yards on the final play of the first half. (Sports Network)
  • The San Antonio Express-News: Williams celebrated his return to the site of his final college game with a 59-yard touchdown return off a blocked field goal. Williams played in the Alamodome on Dec. 29, 2003, helping Nebraska claim a victory over Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl.
"It's always good to come home to Texas," said Williams, who grew up about 60 miles east of Tyler in Beckville.
