Details
  • 12/06/04 - Bengals 27, Ravens 26: In the third quarter Baltimore punt returner B.J. Sams muffed a Kyle Larson punt and Marcus Wilkins recovered for the Bengals at the Baltimore 19-yard line to set up Cincinnati's first touchdown of the game.
The play was preceded by a decision to punt on 4th and 1 with the Bengals down by 17. When asked about the decision to punt, Benglas coach Marvin Lewis said: "I had confidence that our defense would get the ball back for the offense in good field position. I felt confident in Kyle (Larson) punting the football and getting the ball downed in good field position. Ironically, what happened to them in fumbling the punt was what happened to us in the same situation the year before."
  • 12/05/04 - Jets 29, Texans 7: Texans linebacker Jay Foreman sprained his left ankle in a 29-7 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday and will miss the rest of the season.
Coach Dom Capers said the injury might require surgery. Foreman was injured early in the third quarter and had to be helped from the field. The sixth-year player from Nebraska started 10 games this season, and was second on the team with 93 tackles before the Jets contest. (AP)
  • 12/05/04 - Eagles 47, Packers 17: The Packers had to play plenty catchup as Brett Favre and the Packers defense struggled early and often. The early deficit meant fewer carries for Ahman Green, who managed just 37 yards on 11 carries after sitting out last week's Monday Night game. This week, Green wore a flak jacket to protect his bruised ribs.
Philadelphia WR Terrell Owens became the first Eagles player to reach 1,000 yards receiving since Irving Fryar in 1997. (AP)
  • 12/05/04 - Bears 24, Vikings 14: Vikings CB Derek Ross gave up two third-down conversions, including a 31-yarder to Bobby Wade and a 15-yard touchdown to David Terrell in the final two minutes of the first half. It might have cost Ross his job. The Vikings benched Ross in the fourth quarter for Ralph Brown, and there is a chance Ross will be released this week so the Vikings can promote Rhett Nelson from the practice squad. (Star Tribune)
