Details
  • 11/21/04 - Chicago Bears: Apparently some fans still have lessons to learn after the Pacers-Pistons melee.
Several Bears players were involved in verbal altercations with a belligerent fan who was eventually removed from Soldier Field on Sunday during the Bears' 41-10 loss to the Colts.
The fan berated players on the bench for the entire game.
Just before his ejection, he even drew the ire of injured safety Mike Brown, who yelled expletives at the fan while standing on the bench. (Daily Herald Sports)
  • 11/21/04 - Seahawks 24, Dolphins 17: The Seahawks defense clamped down in a way we haven’t seen since Grant Wistrom last suited up. And that raises a question: Does Seattle’s defense belong to Ray Rhodes or Grant Wistrom? (Seahawks.Scout.com)
Wistrom finished the game with 6 tackles (4 solo) and a forced fumble, but what he brings to the Seahawks defense cannot be measured in stats.
  • 11/21/04 - Vikings 22, Lions 19: On one play, it appeared that Joey Harrington was trying to get center Dominic Raiola's attention to snap the ball. Harrington finally called time, just before Raiola snapped the ball. It looked like a complete mix-up by the Lions.
Actually, Raiola was the cool one. He knew what was going on. He was watching the play clock, saw it get down to two seconds, and was ready to snap the ball on a silent count. With all that noise, it was hard for anyone to remain cool -- but Harrington would have been better off to trust that the center would do the right thing, which he did. (The Detroit News)
  • 11/21/04 - When the Vikings were forced to punt, Darren Bennett hit an outstanding 51-yarder to the corner, and Ralph Brown nearly nailed returner Eddie Drummond on the first shot. He gained only 1 yard on the return — far better than his game-opening 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. (Vikings.Scout.com)
  • 11/21/04 - Bills 37, Rams 17: The St. Louis Rams' defensive backfield was depleted by injuries in a loss to Buffalo on Sunday, with the most serious to backup cornerback DeJuan Groce, who hurt his left knee. Coach Mike Martz said Groce could miss the next game, at Green Bay on Nov. 29, and he accused the Bills of taking cheap shots at his players during Buffalo's 37-17 victory.
"The way two of them were lost was a little upsetting," Martz said, accusing Bills players of cutting Groce and Fisher at the knees. "Yes, absolutely, they were doing it intentionally. And they were trying to blow someone's knee out. There's no question about it."
Groce was hurt in the first quarter while blocking after Fisher made an interception. After remaining on the field for a few minutes, Groce limped off slowly with the help of a Rams trainer.
Martz was so unhappy with the Bills that, following his post-game press conference, he made sure to point it out while shaking the hand of Buffalo defensive coordinator Jerry Gray.
"Two corners to the knees from behind," Martz was overheard telling Gray. "You'll see it on the tape." (AP)
  • 11/21/04 - Packers 16, Texans 13: Packers running back Ahman Green left Sunday night's game against the Houston Texans after aggravating a rib injury.
Green had returned in the second quarter after leaving earlier with a rib injury. He was taken out later in the quarter after getting hurt again. His return was questionable.
Green came into the game needing 136 yards for his fifth straight 1,000-yard season with the Packers. That feat would tied Jim Taylor's franchise record. He was only able to get 15 yards on just 5 carries. (AP)
Houston K Kris Brown missed his third kick in a row when a 40-yard first quarter attempt sailed wide right. However, he nailed the next two attempts of 46 and 40 yards respectively.
Texans LB Jay Foreman had 7 total tackles, 5 solo and 2 assisted.
  • 11/21/04 - Chargers 23, Raiders 17: The Chargers offensive line earned an "A" from The North County Times (CA). The paper singled out Toniu Fonoti saying that he "continues to blossom in what is really his second season."
