  • 10/05/04 - Chiefs vs Ravens: Raven QB Kyle Boller was intercepted by cornerback Eric Warfield on the following play, but a defensive holding call against Warfield eliminated the turnover and allowed Lewis to score the final touchdown. (AP)
  • 10/03/04 - Rams vs 49ers: Among the inactive Rams were starting left guard Chris Dishman and starting right cornerback DeJuan Groce, who both have knee injuries. (AP)
  • 10/03/04 - Falcons vs Panthers: The key penalty in the first came when Atlanta had second-and-22 from its 37. Vick threw a short pass, but Carolina's Mike Rucker was called for putting his hands to the facemask of the lineman who was holding, er, blocking him. Instead of third-and-19, Atlanta had a first down, and drove for a field goal. (Charlotte Observer)
  • 10/03/04 - Patriots vs Bills: It was the first time since Dec. 22, 2002, a stretch of 229 touches, Corey Dillon lost a fumble.
After scoring on an early 15-yard run, Dillon appeared to be going in for another score in the second quarter when Bills' DE Chris Kelsay's jarring hit at the 3-yard line dislodged the ball from the running back's grasp and sent it to the turf at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
"There's no feeling like that, believe me," Dillon said.
A prolonged look of anguish accompanied Dillon to the sidelines. (Boston Herald)
  • 10/03/04 - Bengals vs Steelers: Punter Kyle Larson continues to kick well. Before the half, he pinned the Steelers at their 8-yard line with a high, 35-yard punt. He dropped four of his six punts inside the 20, and one hit inside the 5 that hopped into the end zone for a touchback. (Cincinnati Enquirer)
  • 10/03/04 - Packers vs Giants: Kris Brown's 46-yard FG in the first quarter was his 10th consecutive make dating back to last season. He hit on his first seven FG attempts this season until missing a 57-yarder at the end of the first half. Brown then promptly nailed two FGs (21, 44) in the second half. (HoustonTexans.com)
  • Green Bay fell to a disapointing 1-3 with a loss to the Giants. Brett Favre went down with a head injury and Ahman Green failed to gain 100 yards on the ground for the second straigh game. Green finished with 15 carries for just 58 yards (3.9 avg) and a fumble, while catching 4 passes for 48 yards.
  • 10/03/04 - Raiders vs Texans: Center Adam Treu snapped the ball when he thought it was time. Only QB Kerry Collins wasn't through calling out the signals. The miscommunication on a silent count resulted in the ball hitting Collins' right arm, falling to the ground and winding up in the arms of linebacker Jay Foreman.
"Adam just snapped it a little early," Turner said. The Texans recovered the ball at Oakland's 30 and scored a touchdown on its ensuing possession. (Contra Costa Times)
Foreman finished the game with 7 tackles (4 solo). Teammate Kris Brown was 3 of 4 on field goals, the miss was a 57-yard attempt that fell short; he hit all 3 extra point attempts.
