Details
  • 09/26/04 - Chiefs vs Texans: Texans K Kris Brown kicked three field goals, including the game-winner from 49 yards out, leaving two seconds on the clock and a stunned crowd of 77,433 at Arrowhead Stadium.
Brown was anticipating the Chiefs calling a timeout to try and "ice him" before a 49-yard attempt with seven seconds remaining in the game. The Chiefs elected not to use their final time.
"I was actually anticipating them calling a timeout," Brown said. "To me, that really doesn't play into anything. If anything it gives me more time to calm down and get out there and go through my thought process." (Houston Chronicle)
  • Trying to keep Kansas City RB Priest Holmes under control was an all-day job for Jay Foreman and Jamie Sharper, who had 10 tackles each.
  • Chiefs CB Eric Warfield registered his third interception of the season and the 18th of his career in the first quarter. All three of Warfield's INTs have come in the past two games. (WarpaintIllustrated.com)
  • 09/26/04 - Seahawks vs 49ers: Grant Wistrom once again displayed that he has a gear that wasn’t built into most people... Ever since Grant Wistrom came on board, the Seahawk defensive line has ramped things up to an entirely new level. (Seahawks.NET)
  • 09/26/04 - Packers vs Colts: Ahman Green needed 100 yards to break the franchise record for a fifth straight 100-yard rushing game- but Green was only able to get 67 yards on 17 carries. The first half of the game proved to be a passing shootout between the Colts Peyton Manning and Packers' Brett Favre with the Colts winning 45-31. Green was on other end of 4 Favre passes and managed to get 34 receiving yards.
  • 09/26/04 - Lions vs Eagles: Fullback Cory Schlesinger (hamstring) was sidelined in the first quarter. (AP)
