- 12/16/03 - Philadelphia vs Miami: Philly's 1/3 RB Correll Buckhalter only gained nine yards on six but he did score on an acrobatic two-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter that gave the Eagles the lead for good. The Eagles defeated the Dolphins 34-27.
- 12/14/03 - Green Bay vs San Diego: Green Bay's Ahman Green broke the oldest team single-season rushing record in the NFL on Sunday when he eclipsed Hall of Famer Jim Taylor's mark of 1,474 yards set in 1962.
Green needed 12 yards coming into the game against the San Diego Chargers, and he got them all, and more, on the opening drive of the Packers' 38-21 win. Green broke Taylor's record on a 9-yard run to the Chargers 4. That gave him 1,480 for the season, and he scored on a 4-yard run on the next play.
"It lasted for a long time," Green said. "I take my hat off to my O-linemen and all the guys blocking for me. They know who they are. I couldn't have gotten here by myself."
Green carried 19 times for 75 yards and one touchdown, and he caught at touchdown pass from Brett Favre. With two games left, he has 1,538 yards so far this year.
This is Ahman's fourth year with the Packers after being traded from the Seattle Seahawks. (AP)
- 12/14/03 - New Orleans vs New York Giants: For the Giants, it was getting bad but there was still room for worse. The first of Joe Horn's four touchdown receptions for the Saints came against one-on-one coverage by cornerback Ralph Brown, also cost the Giants the services of Brown, who reinjured his separated right shoulder while trying to knock the ball out of Horn's hands in the end zone. With Brown out, the Giants used Kato Serwanga and Ike Charlton at cornerback. Serwanga is primarily a special-teams player, and Charlton was an emergency signing in midseason. (NY Times)

"We were just missing assignments and stuff like that," Groce said. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
- 12/14/03 - The game went down to the final play as Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck`s long pass intended for Koren Robinson was broken up near the goal line by Rams rookie cornerback DeJuan Groce. - 12/14/03 - The Rams clinched the NFC West division title and for players like sixth-year defensive end Grant Wistrom, division titles have become old hat. But they never get old.
"I love winning titles," Wistrom said. "It's awesome."
All around the Rams' locker room, veteran players were forgoing the championship attire. Grant Wistrom wasn't wearing a championship hat or t-shirt. Neither were Leonard Little, Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt, Orlando Pace or Tyoka Jackson. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

"I tell you what, I like him," Minter said of McCown. "I told him after the game he's going to be a good quarterback. Why? Because he doesn't let bad things get him down. He came back and put two drives together with his legs and his arms. That shows me a lot about his character."
